Drama
When they reach a certain developmental stage, children like dressing up and play acting.
I have themed dress up clothes such as e.g. knight, train driver, etc. and open ended ones like cloths that can be draped around to pretend to be a Roman toga or a veil for a princess.
We do pretend play when the children are ready for it.
I find it enhances their imagination and their social abilities.
Moreover, they learn abstract thinking since they have to visualise what someone else would do in a certain situation.
Pretend play is invaluable with young children.
Knight
Princess
Train Driver
Rider (riding gear)
Biker
Vampire
School child (pre-schoolers love this)
Peppa Pig
I add to the above from time to time.
Also I have lots of open ended dress up clothes that can be used for more than one character.
