GUIDE TO PAY AND CONDITIONS - 2020
Please remember that you won't get a diamond for the price of a pebble! I am fully insured, tax registered, and highly qualified. Insurance, taxes, PRSI, Childminding Ireland Membership, courses, hygiene and safety equipment, i.e. quality cost money and this is reflected in my charges. Moreover, I normally only take on two full-time children at a time and I only take on children part-time if I feel the combination will work out. This means I have valuable time for the children in my care. Psychological studies in crèches in the UK have shown that crèches can only provide quality care when there are no more than three children per minder, when the staff turn-over is low, and when the same minder consistently looks after the same children.
What is NOT included in charges
When studying the charges below please also consider that you must bring in your own formula for babies.
I can provide additional baby food as well as three full meals + two snacks per day for toddlers and pre-school children for a surcharge that depends on the child's needs and your requirements.
Of course you can also bring in the child's food and I'll reheat it (if applicable) for free. (Please consult my Healthy Eating Policy before you bring in food.)
You must also provide nappies, creams, wipes, etc.
School runs
School runs are included in the charges.
I can travel to Aglish, Clashmore, Villierstown, Ballinameelagh, and Ballycurrane on a daily basis.
Daily Reports
I will provide you with daily reports for babies. These are included in the charges.
Out of house activities
When I take minded children to activities, e.g. Waterford County Childcare Committee play mornings or arts and crafts mornings, I pay the charge for that and I don't charge for driving there.
Single Parents
I give reductions to single parents. This usually amounts to €5 per child less for a whole day compared with my normal charges.
Childminding Contract
I follow the Childminding Ireland advice that "strongly recommends the use of a contract form agreed and signed by both the Childminder and the parent, which is subject to review at agreed intervals." I review the contracts annually.
