Coronavirus COVID-19
Arachas Insurance, a member of the Allianz group and the insurance provider for Childminding Ireland members, has sent out a request for all childminders insured under their childminding insurance policy to have certain minimum precautions in place regarding the Coronavirus COVID-19 outbreak.
They request that we have a Coronavirus policy in place.
You can find the draft policy document below.
There might be changes to the policy coming up shortly since we have been informed it would constantly be updated in accordance with requirements.
I will also hand out a hard copy of the policy to all parents of children in my service.
Quarantine and Return to setting Protocol (based on HSE Advice and guidelines) :
Symptoms of coronavirus
It can take up to 14 days for symptoms of coronavirus to appear.
The main symptoms to look out for are:
- a cough - this can be any kind of cough, not just dry
- shortness of breath
- breathing difficulties
- fever (high temperature - 38 degrees Celsius or above) or chills
Who is at risk:
Those that have been to an affected region in the last 14 days and HAVE symptoms
1. Stay away from other people
2. Phone GP without delay
3. If you do not have a GP Phone 112 or 999
THOSE WHO DO NOT HAVE symptoms For advice visit www.hse.ie
Those who have been in close contact with a confirmed or probable case of COVID-19 (Coronavirus) in the last 14 days and HAVE symptoms
1. Stay away from other people
2. Phone GP without delay
3. If you do not have a GP Phone 112 or 999

My Quarantine Policy is if you are in this At Risk group or displaying symptoms, I am asking you not to attend, or send your children to my service, until medically cleared.
This policy will be updated as necessary in line with HSE advice.
